Jaguar XJR twr 4.0 Sport ( 1e eigenaar)
Deze Jaguar is o.a. voorzien van:
- Automaat
- Buitenspiegels elektrisch verstelbaar
- Armsteun voor
- Centrale deurvergrendeling
- Mistlampen voor
- 16" lichtmetalen velgen
- Elektrische ramen
- Leder stuur
- Elektrisch leder interieur incl. memory
- Climate controle (vol automatische airco)
- Centrale vergrendeling
- Zelfdimmende binnenspiegel
- Hoofdsteunen achter
- Cruise controle
- Fabrieksaudiosysteem
Jaguar XJ 5.3 V12 Coupe ( only 23 k miles)
One of the very best available, this Jaguar V12 Coupe is just magnificent.
This very unique Jaguar XJ-C 5.3 V12 Supplied on 24th november 1977 to the first keeper and remained in his family for 24 for years before passing to my father a jaguar enthousiast. Unfurtunalty he passed in 2007. I kept hem after in my warm garage with more exotic rare vehicles.
The XJ series of motorcars were the mainstay of Jaguar cars since 1968 and, in fact, was the last motorcar to have any input by Sir William Lyons, its founder. After the series I and II, a relatively short run of two-door XJ coupés with a pillarless hardtop body called the XJ-C were built between 1975 and 1978. The car was actually launched at the London Motor Show in October 1973, but it subsequently became clear that it was not ready for production, the economic troubles unfolding in the western world at this time seem to further reduced any sense of urgency about producing and selling the cars. They finally started to emerge from Jaguar showrooms only some two years later. These were priced higher than the four-door car so were immediately relatively exclusive.
The profile of these sought after touring cars was so attractive, with windows down, that they are often hard to find in good condition. Even harder to find are the 5.3 V12 series, examples of which only 1873 were built.
A comprehensive detailed service history runs right back to birth. It takes about 3 seconds on the walk up to realise what a substantially important piece of Jaguar history this car is. The car sits just right, the factory chrome pressed wheels glisten in the sunlight. Upon opening the door the freshness of the factory Floris Blue velour seats (approx. 2/3 coupes had velour interior) welcomes you, not aged, the original flock carpeting retains its freshness and the instantly recognisable British Leyland smell of the 70,s is there in abundance. The engine bay is simply remarkable, totally unmolested, as is the boot interior. The full factory book pack is present in its period Blue Supercover wallet, with the many pullouts included. Most importantly the Passport to Service book remains, boasting 9 stamps along with continuation invoices for servicing carried out to date
Unlike other examples that have been apart, and had the goodness restored out of them, this car, aside from having refreshment of the paintwork in 2000 remains totally original to factory specification. With a fully warranted 23k miles, such low ownership, bearing a history and pedigree such as this, must be the best example out there.
Driving the car is a real treat. It starts on the first turn of the key and the V12 sounds immediately. Snick it into gear and depress the faster pedal and it wafts its way effortlessly into the distance. The power is smooth and relentless and the gearchange almost imperceptible. With only 23k miles the ride in this classic Jaguar makes you feel young again. Settling into the wonderfully new look seat, it is easy to imagine setting off for a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable continental run without annoying vibrtions , sounds that do not belong there. He looks and he drives like he comes directly from the factory
Needless to say all the paperwork is present. There is the original Passport to Service with a good many stamps, there are numerous MOT certificates, lots of invoices and general miscellaneous invoices detailing the ongoing upkeep of the car. Even a nice test in the magazine Classic cars with this Jaguar is coming with the car
This is not a cheap purchase, but then again it is the rarest of machines in the rarest of conditions - very solid, very reliable, very presentable Jaguar xj-5.3 Coupe. Find another one.
Buy it, drive it , ore keep it fort a nice collectors-item like the owners before
